Forest Map & Accessibility

Disabled parking is located in the main car park, near to the main entrance. Wider gates throughout the park allow wheelchair access to the park. The pathway that runs through the monkey enclosure is ¾ of a mile long. 

The Banana Café and Jungle Shop are all accessible and staff are more than happy to help assist. Disabled toilets are located next to the café.

Guide dogs are prohibited in the park due to dogs being a natural predator to Barbary macaques, however, other arrangements can be made and we are happy to keep guide dogs in the office during your trip. Please ring in advance. Please note, you cannot hire wheelchairs or mobility scooters at Monkey Forest.

The trail is wheelchair and mobility scooter friendly, however, due to some steeper slopes, some wheelchair users do find the steeper areas inaccessible. We suggest you assess this on your trip. We’d advise either using Mid-Size and Heavy-Duty Scooters due to the terrain. The inaccessible areas can be avoided and multiple spots within the enclosure are suitable to just stop and watch the monkey antics as it unfolds.

Disabled adults or children can bring 1 carer with them free of charge when they pay adult/child admission price. This does not extend to foster parents.

Proof required for disabled visitor – blue badge, DWP, DLA letter, PIP letter

Additional carers (more than 1) are required to pay the concession rate

Carers MUST ensure the person they are caring for follows the park rules as safety for our monkeys and our visitors is of the highest priority when there are free roaming primates.
