With spring in sight it’s a fantastic time to visit as we’re currently trying to spot which females could potentially be pregnant and become mother’s themselves. With the mating season coming to an end, and the baby season starting in late spring-early summer it’s a real challenge for our guides as the females don’t always show signs of pregnancy until late in the pregnancy. However, it can be easier to spot with younger females who are slightly smaller.
Our females then give birth after a 5-and-a-half-month gestation period. They give birth high up in the trees at night and the first we know of them being mothers is when they appear in the morning holding a tiny newborn.
