Join our Education Team for a brilliant day of learning through experience, with educational activities designed for home-educated children from 5-16 years.
These fun and educational days will run monthly through term time, and are bookable through our website, by following the link below.
We’re excited to announce that our Home Education program is back, but with a new format for 2026!
Join us for a designated day of activities, where the focus is learning at your own pace, whilst having the opportunity to visit our whole programme of events designed just for Home Educated families.
Running this year across a day rather than a designated time slot, families can discover the monkeys in their natural environment whilst working towards pre-planned activities using our downloadable packs.
Home Education Days
What’s involved in the day?
- Learn at your own pace, by exploring the forest at your own speed.
- Sign up to one of our workshops throughout the day to get a more in-depth understanding
- Visit our exploration station to get hands-on with some Barbary macaque-related biofacts
- Meet an Educator in the forest to learn about Barbary macaque behaviours
... And more to come!
Each participant will get access to a learning pack for them to work towards on their visit
Who is this suitable for?
· All Home Educated leaners, aged 5-16yrs.
· Younger siblings may attend, but may not benefit from these activities. Children 2 and under will still need to obtain an U2 free childs day ticket, children from 3-5 years will need a child day ticket which can be purchased online, or on the day.
· Spaces on each workshop are limited to 25- so make sure to book your workshop slot to avoid missing out
· Booking is required for each Home Education Day you wish to attend.
- We understand that things can change, and you may not be able to visit on the day but please do let us know in advance if you cannot attend.
- Non-attendance on 2 consecutive days with no notice will not be tolerated. This limits other families' attendance, as we cannot maintain a waiting list.
Time: 10.30 am-2.30 pm
Cost:
- £15.50 for 1 child and accompanying adult.
- £9 for additional children.

Please note: Children must always be supervised - no children allowed by themselves in the Forest Enclosure.
Home Education Networks
Part of an existing Home Educators network?
We can facilitate special bookings for networks to come as a group and benefit from our Home Educators package of learning.
If you are a network organiser and wish to enquire about bringing your group; please get in touch.
We can normally only facilitate groups of up to 30 children (and their adults)
We tailor workshops for children aged 5-15; so please consider this when booking.
You can choose from a range of topics, we can work with you on what you’d like to cover.
Cost: £15.50 per child with accompanying adult.
£9 for additional children.
Requirement: Minimum 10 attendees to book a network visit.
Children must be supervised at all times in the Forest Enclosure.
